ZECHARIAH 4-6:
Four different visions make up these 3 chapters: Golden Lampstand, Flying Scroll, Woman in measuring basket and the Four Chariots. The last chapter ends with the crowning of Joshua
Take the silver and the gold and make a crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak. Tell him this is what the Lord Almighty says: 'Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the Lord...'(6:11-12)Most of the visions relate to the future of the temple but also foreshadows the millennial Kingdom of the Messiah.
REVELATION 18:
"Woe! Woe, O great city, O Babylon, city of power! In one hour your doom has come! (18:10)The chapter is filled with descriptions of all the power, beauty and greatness of the city and how in the scope of an hour it is all turned to rubble.
JOURNAL:
One hour, how often do I dismiss hours upon hours. Yet in one hour the greatest city the world has ever known is eliminated. The power of God to act and to act swiftly and decisively, is both frightening and comforting. I think of how long it takes to build a home, build a family and a life, yet in the scope of an hour it can be dismantled and destroyed. God gives us power through the spirit to do great things, but that power also can do great harm.
As I think about the current hour and all that God has given and blessed me with, it is overwhelming as to where to begin. However, just as with yesterday, to remember that time is a gift, God in his sovereignty will make it work to his purposes. It is not to be feared or dreaded, it is to be used with confidence in that God will not fail. Though, my life is a whisp, it is a whisp that matters and was paid for in Christ's life and death. Therefore my joy is found in living it with confidence, hour by hour.
My favorite things in life don't cost any money. It's really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time. ~ Steve Jobs
A quote from someone who knew the triumph of industry and technology and almost unlimited worldly resoursces and power...yet still the gift of time was one that was most precious.
"God loves you! So do I! Make it a great Day!"
