DANIEL 1,2:

Daniel is taken into captivity and because of his and several other Israelites talents he was set aside as special by Nebuchadnezzar.  After continually obeying God Daniel saves the day and the rest of the priests of Babylon by interpreting Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.  In all of this he gives credit to God and does not credit himself.

1 JOHN 1:

John is making the claim that we cannot possibly have fellowship with God and still walk in darkness…if we do, it is because we are lying.  We also are lying if we claim to be without sin and or that we have not sinned then “we also lie and the truth is not in us”.

JOURNAL:

Reading the words of these prophetic men…words that come from lives that were given wholly and completely to God, I am painfully aware that I have become soft and weak.  The gift of life and these words were bought and purchased with the lives and blood of Christ and then men that wrote them.  Many have never had the freedom to read them or live them out without certain death and persecution.  

We as a community have lost anything to fight for except for excess safety, security, pleasure and entertainment. No wonder we are so disoriented, hyper, addicted and full of discontent.  If there is nothing to fight for then we are doomed to grow lazy and apathetic.

Yet God has created us uniquely to have visions and dreams and to aggressively pursue those dreams and visions.  If I am a follower of Christ then the spirit of my life is full of power, love and discipline…not timidity laziness and fear (2 Timothy 1:7).  If it is not then I lie and am not walking with and fully depending on Christ.
