“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to
succeed, but I am bound to live up to what light I have.”

― Abraham Lincoln

PROVERBS 19-20

Friendships exist for adversity...

21Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
22What a person desires is unfailing loveb ;
better to be poor than a liar. (19:21-22)

2 CORINTHIANS 3

Confidence comes from the spirit of God within us...

4Such confidence we have through Christ before God. 5Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. 6He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

JOURNAL

God's purpose and his spirit is what ultimately prevails. We deeply desire an unfailing love and that can only be received through Christ. No person or circumstance can ever fill that void. Therefore receiving that spirit is what gives permanence and eternal life.

 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplatea the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 CORINTHIANS 3:16-18
