“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

GENESIS 12-14

1The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.a
3I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”b(12:1-3)

MATTHEW 5:1-26

14“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

JOURNAL

Jesus begins the sermon on the mount...this has always been to me the part of the Bible that I really believe should be read again and again. It is Jesus' sermon. The amazing thing about it is that it truly addresses everything in this life. I tells us how we should behave, what we should honor, what we should watch out for. Yet is often think it is not focused on because it is difficult and it calls us to do some really hard things.

Yet we are to love and let the light that is in us shine for all to see. God desires that we are a blessing fro others.

 23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
