“All I want from you is to trust me with what little you can, and grow in loving people around you with the same love I share with you. It's not your job to change them, or to convince them. You are free to love without an agenda.”  ~ William Paul Young

GENESIS 18-19

29So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.

MATTHEW 6

3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret.

33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

JOURNAL

Many times I become distracted and forget that God is a personal God. His way of communicating is individual and personal. The way that I hear from God and the motivation to obey him is through honest, open communication. I will never have peace, direction and fearless hope unless I surrender to God's direction. This means that I live in obedience in the moment. I leave tomorrow to God. I don't obey for self-preservation, I obey out of love and commitment, having surrendered my life.

This is a far cry from the world in which I live. However, I consume myself with others and their struggles. I cannot live a life that is focused on all the wrong done to me or all the wrong I have done. That is the purpose of the cross, that is the reason for Christ's death. To wipe away all bitterness. To allow me to center my life on God's love rather than on bitter circumstances. To allow me to find joy in his love for me rather than on transient situations and moments.
