“A kite flies against the wind, not with it.”
~ Winston Churchill

 ISAIAH 53-55

Isaiah tells of the redemption of Israel through Christ.

6We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

 1 THESSALONIANS 2

Paul affirms the people for their faithfulness and that their faith was not based on trust in men but rather trust in God.

13And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

JOURNAL

Resistance...for me it conjurs up images which seem negative.  Words like conflict, opposition, friction, death and destruction foster feelings of fear, worry and doubt.  Yet what would life be without them? We would not have sacrifice, victory, birth, redemption or salvation.  In our physical world we wouldn't have gravity, seasons, fire, waves, wind, etc...

To fear and avoid the forces that oppose us is to fear and avoid the beauty and miracle of our own mind and heart. Beauty and love is born of resistance.
