“It’s what you do in your free time that will set you free—or enslave you.”
~ Jarod Kintz

 ISAIAH 59-61

Here is the verse quoted by Jesus in Luke 4:18-19

1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,a
2to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor

Paul encourages the church to work honestly and to do work that is admirable.

You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, 12so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

JOURNAL

The poor, brokenhearted and those in prison...This is who Jesus came to bring hope.  Fortunately I can identify with all 3 of those...I think every human can as well.  I say fortunately because this acknowledgement is what actually brings me to hope and to Christ. Otherwise I wouldn't need him...or I wouldn't think I did.  Poor in spirit, brokenhearted by circumstance and in prison to fear and anger, I limp and crawl to God and to the message of Christ and am renewed in spirit.
