OCTOBER 9, 2016

ISAIAH 41-42

 10So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (41:10)

COLOSSIANS 1

We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,e 10so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified youf to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

JOURNAL 

The amazing blessing of another day and the fact that God has shared his spirit with me. That I actually get to participate in this day with the God of all creation in my heart and mind. This is another thing that I don't often really think and dwell on. I get caught up in frustrations and fears and worries and do not stop to think that the God of creation...the one who made all of this life possible is living within me.

To really embrace this is overwhelming. It almost seems impossible yet when I think of the miracle of life and how so many things work so well without us doing one thing...from the rising of the sun to the tolerable temperature to the perfection of the earth and its turning and rotation around the sun. It is all so absolutely amazing. It is in these moments that I am overcome with wonder and joy in this present moment and all that God has blessed me with in sharing his creation. Then to then accept that he lives within me is almost too much to bear.

11I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
