“That's one hell of an amen, that's the only way to go Fightin' the good fight, Till the Good Lord calls you home..." BRANTLEY GILBERT, One Hell of an Amen

PSALM 75-77

Psalm of Asaph (musician and singer in the Temple)...

1I cried out to God for help;
I cried out to God to hear me.
2When I was in distress, I sought the Lord;
at night I stretched out untiring hands,
and I would not be comforted.
3I remembered you, God, and I groaned;
I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.b
4You kept my eyes from closing;
I was too troubled to speak.
5I thought about the former days,
the years of long ago;

6I remembered my songs in the night. (77:1-6)

ROMANS 6

Paul explains that all of us is to be given to God...
11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

JOURNAL

I love those lyrics and that song by Brantley Gilbert...it reminds me of the quote by Vince Lombardi "the greatest fulfillment of all he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious"

The field of battle is the world that we wake to every morning. Wherever we are whatever we are facing...it is our battlefield and the only way it is worth fighting is with a heart and soul surrendered to God and God alone. The victory is always assured when we give our heart and soul in trust of God and seeking him in obedience.  In this we can never fail...regardless of the outcome.

23Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? LUKE 9:23-25
