“Pleasure is always derived from something outside you, whereas joy arises from within.”

LEVITICUS 13
“45“The leprous person who has the disease shall wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose, and he shall cover his upper lip and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean.’ 46He shall remain unclean as long as he has the disease. He is unclean. He shall live alone. His dwelling shall be outside the camp.”
MATTHEW 26:20-54
“33 Peter answered him, “Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.” 34 Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” 35 Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same.”
JOURNAL
It is confusing at times to read the path for those with leprosy and how they were commanded to live alone in rags. Such a sad path and turn of fate, it is a reminder that life is often not fair. We are marked for death and failure even in the moments when we feel confidence in our commitment as Peter did in his declaration that he would never deny Christ. It is this reminder that our only hope is found in the comfort and joy of knowing and being loved by God. The external is never where we find the evidence of God. While it can be seen here in the magnificence of his creation...it is ultimately found in the inner resolve of the heart.
