“Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”
― Winston S. Churchill
“This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your petition, says: 10‘If you stay in this land, I will build you up and not tear you down; I will plant you and not uproot you, for I have relented concerning the disaster I have inflicted on you. 11Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, whom you now fear. Do not be afraid of him, declares the Lord, for I am with you and will save you and deliver you from his hands. 12I will show you compassion so that he will have compassion on you and restore you to your land.’(42:9-12)JEREMIAH 40-42
JOURNAL
How we see ourselves often determines the boundaries of what we believe is possible. If we see only our flaws and failures, we begin to live beneath the life God intended. Shame whispers that we are unworthy, and soon that lie becomes a lens through which we interpret everything, our relationships, our purpose, and even our prayers. Yet God gives us permission to see differently, for through Christ we are not outsiders begging for grace, we are brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, invited to walk in freedom and confidence.
This truth changes everything. When we recognize that the Creator of the universe calls us family, we are released from the toxic cycle of shame and self-doubt. We no longer have to strive for worth or hide our weakness, instead we can live with humble confidence, knowing that our identity is rooted not in our performance but in God’s love.
With this perspective, we can face failure without fear, knowing that each stumble is simply part of our becoming. Gratitude grows, perseverance deepens, and peace takes root. God builds and plants us when we stay near Him, He replaces fear with compassion, insecurity with belonging, and despair with purpose.
In the end, the question is not whether we will fail, but whether we will believe who we truly are in Christ. For nothing, not death or life, not angels or demons, not the past or the future, can separate us from the love that defines us.
