“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo."So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

MATTHEW 21:1-22
Jesus has his disciples go get a donkey for him to ride on into Jerusalem.
The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,“Hosanna to the Son of David!”“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”c“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” (6-13)When the Pharisees saw all that was happening they were angry and questioned him. Jesus rebukes them and then goes out to Bethany to spend the night.
JOURNAL
Jesus enters the city and then goes straight to the Temple and cleans house. His time is now short and he is making sure he sets the record straight for his disciples and that he is fully obedient to God. Turning over the tables and confronting the mockery of what the temple had become, was critical to laying the foundation of what he is to accomplish in the next few days.
How would I behave if I new I only had a few days left. It is absurd that I don't live as if it might be my last few days. I have no guarantees, I don't know if I will even finish typing this sentence, but yet I make plans and live mostly in a way that would suggest I am guaranteed far more.

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? (Luke 12:25)
